Mother’s Union

Mothers’ Union had been an active group at St. Giles’ for over 75 years. We meet on the first Monday afternoon each month except August. We have 26 members, including 1 indoor member.

We have speakers each moth, organise an afternoon tea, Lent and Advent services and a Christmas Lunch. In summer, we have a day’s outing.

The branch supports local as well as international appeals, including Afia, Teenage Parent Unit, Women’s Refuse, and making up hospital emergency bags.

Prayers are said for members in need, as well as for the world where there is conflict, especially for families – the very essence of what Mothers’ Union stands for.

A team of members meet four times a year to discuss any issues that have been raised, and to discuss forthcoming fundraising events.
